January 2010  Our new office in Southport is now open and is being managed by our new member of staff, John Rands. We would also like to welcome two new members of the team who will be based in our main Winchester office.  Peter Burrows is our new Office Manager and Rachael Nicholls is our new Trainee Lighting Designer.

December 2009   Designs for Lighting have been awarded the contract for Independent Certifier for the South Coast PFI

September 2009   Alistair Scott becomes Senior Vice President of the Institution of Lighting Engineers.

July 2009   Designs for Lighting are appointed as Technical Advisor for the Neath Port Talbot PPP. 

May 2009   Alan Tulla becomes President Elect of the Society of Light and Lighting.

March 2009   We are pleased to announce that Andrew Longman has just been awarded I Eng status under the EC Registration scheme.

February 2009  the CSS street lighting project SL3/2007; ‘Review of Luminaire Maintenance Factors’ published. DfL assisted in the writing of this document.

Jan 2009  Alistair Scott visits the Gulf States as part of UKTI trade mission.

September 2008   Alistair Scott elected as Junior Vice President of the ILE.

September 2008  John Heath attends UKTI Passport to Export clinic.

March 2008   Alex Elliott joins DfL in the position of Senior Lighting Engineer to carry out lighting design duties at our Winchester office and to assist with the Independent Certifier role in Barnet and Enfield.
