Getting things Running!

Happy Monday everyone...our team have been busy this weekend!

Alex Elliott who works within the design team took on the Romsey 5 mile run on Sunday morning. Earlier this month Alex was struck with illness that suspended his training for more than a week. Despite the setbacks Alex ran the 5 miles in 35 minutes 15 seconds. He completed the run for charity and to date he has raised almost £300 for The Courage Foundation UK. DfL were pleased to sponsor Alex as a company along with many individual donations that he received from members of the team.

In addition, some of you may already be aware that our Business Development Director, Richard is running the London Marathon this year. This weekend he completed a half marathon as part of his training. Just 3 months to go until London!

As a result of the team’s interest in running we have also started a running club at work which runs on Wednesday lunch times by professional running company and their head coach Brian. Brian comes in and supports staff of all abilities to progress or take up running. DfL understand the importance of bringing in professional experts to ensure you get the most out of any area of business or development and have already seen over 40% of the staff get involved. The team are having a great time going out during their lunch break and it’s great to see the everyone getting involved from our Managing Director to our new starters.

Managing Director, Alistair Scott said “As someone who has never run before, I am seeing the benefits of running with the team. It helps to break up the day and of course will have numerous benefits to individual health and well-being which will also benefit the company as a whole.”

Work-life balance is important to us at DfL and evidence shows there are both mental and physical benefits from running. We hope that by offering the running club the team have the chance to switch off from work, build team spirit and get out in the fresh air!

Alex is still collecting for his chosen charity so if any of you would like to sponsor him please click here.
