Richard Jackson- Opinion Piece

Posted April 3, 2020

A few weeks ago our Business Development Director, Richard Jackson put up a post on his LinkedIn profile about 'free' lighting designs offered by manufacturers and it caused quite a stir. We then had this as one of our Thoughts of the Week where it again received a big response.

Following this, Richard was asked to write an opinion piece for this months ILP Lighting Journal. Speaking of the article our Managing Director, Alistair Scott said "Richard’s article brings to the fore a subject which has been circulating in the industry for decades. It is much more relevant now, with the increasing impact and importance of CDM 2015 regulations. Unless site conditions are taken into consideration an indicative design should never be used for construction. The conclusion is clear; using a competent lighting design consultancy will invariably save you money over a “free” design."

We hope you enjoy reading about this topic in more detail.
